A multi-faceted approach to Knoydart’s housing needs

Housing is a complex issue on Knoydart, as it is across much of the west coast of Scotland.  We have a need for low cost rental housing, affordable housing for purchase, land to build on and accommodation for seasonal workers.

The Knoydart Foundation are committed to tackling this issue head on.

So far we’ve upgraded a number of our properties.  But we still have work to do.  We’ve built three new homes.  We’ve sold three plots to locals at reduced rates so they could concentrate on building their houses rather than affording the land and have four more in the pipeline.  

A small percentage of local housing stock has been set aside to house season workers.  Thus providing a service to local businesses.
