Knoydart Community Garden – growing community
Our Community Garden was started in 2010 using the site of the old Inverie House garden. We have small allotments, polytunnels, community growing space, fruit trees and bushes, and an amenity area with picnic tables and a lovely traditional herb garden.
Plotholders grow food for themselves and work together to keep the community areas tidy and productive.
Excess fresh, zero food miles produce is available on an ‘ability to pay’ donations basis to locals and visitors. This year we are extending our growing space, supporting other gardeners on the peninsula, doing composting experiments and generally thinking about food security. We have lots of ideas, watch this space!
The community garden has become a hub of wellbeing. It encourages social interaction, exercise and healthy living.
Covid19 update: We regret that the garden is currently closed to visitors.
