Private walks & tours
Ranger guided walks, and tours are among the most popular activities for visitors to Knoydart. Our experienced rangers can tell you all about life on Knoydart while also detailing the peninsula's magnificent flora, fauna, history and more.
We're always happy to adapt to your interests so if you have a specific interest, whether it be foraging or spotting otters we will be happy to cater to your wishes.
Options include:
- Low level walks around Inverie taking in the history and environment.
- Otter watch at Slisneach.
- Visit Samadalan Beach and watch the seals.
- Travel in to the heart of Knoydart in a Land Rover and visit Folach Falls.
- and more.
These walks and tours really bring Knoydart to life for our visitors and come highly recommended.

Note: from October to March we will be running our public tours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Public tours
We offer daily public tours - also known as the Knoydart in a Knutshell tour - through the village woodland to the border with the neighbouring Kilchoan estate where it is possible to spot Red Deer.
During the two-and-a-half hour tour you will be joined by a knowledgable ranger who will stop frequently to encourage you to observe and appreciate plants, fungi, wildlife and scenery.
Activities may include; foraging, birding, and wildlife tracking.
Discover the fascinating natural and cultural heritage of this beautiful place.
Our professional guides provide immersive experiences that are fun for the whole family! Well-trained pets are also welcome.
